Wind Generator/Machine
Hello, all - I haven't found anything on any of these forums, so here goes: I need a wind effect for a short film. It needs to be strong enough that it will be sending paper, etc. flying, make tree branches sway significantly and hair go crazy, etc. I'm trying to figure out how to do this - it seems like there are a few wind machines you can buy around $1000, but there aren't a whole lot of reviews, and that seems a bit expensive for our budget. I've tried to find places to rent one around the Twin Cities, but I haven't found anything yet. Does anyone have any recommendations for a machine and/or where to rent one? Also, does anyone know of any cheap low-budget ways to get around it? I thought about just putting up a few box fans, but we need to kill the wind at an exact moment - I suppose I could hook them all up to the same power strip and kill the power strip. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Re: Wind Generator/Machine
Not sure if you have airboats up your way, but it you want tree branches swaying that will do it. Rental would be the way to go. For less wind rent a large industrial fan.
