Canada Goose Family Up Close in HD Video
I shot this video with a Sony HC9 and a Sony DH1758 telextender, using my shoulder-mount steadying rig. I converted the 1440 X 1080i video, which became an mt2 file on uploading, into 1920 X 1080p on AVS Video Editor 4.2, using MP4 at 16 Mbps.
This pair of geese has been raising young ones on this stretch of the Willamette River for many years and they allow me to approach them without alarm. You'll notice that half the goslings are older and larger. This is because either they or the other half were kidnapped by these parents from another pair. This is common among geese and a few other birds. Push the logo on the right side for fullscreen. The image quality when embedded like this is poor, compared to watching it directly on Vimeo, by following the link to my video album in my Signature. Even better quality is available to Vimeo subscribers, by downloading the video file and playing it from their own computers, with the program of their choice. I recommend Splash Lite 1.4.3, which just was upgraded. If you watch it from here, the small window will look best.
