IR torch with Sony HVR-A1
Hi,
I know there's a few of you out there using sony cams for the nightshot function. I placed an order for a mini IR flashlight the other day from HK - only £13 shipped. Search on ebay for "IR Infrared Illuminator 28 LED" anyway, it's perfect - built like a maglite and small enough to mount on a cheapie sony mic holder. It's 28 LED's are a massive improvement over the built-in LED, and gives a wide spread that still gives the intensity to focus on objects about 25 feet away. Pic attached Hope it helps! |

Any video samples of it in use? Maybe compare it with the standard IR LEDs? Looks very nice.

Here you go, i've switched it on and off so you can see the difference. Ok, it's no floodlamp, but it's very mobile!!

Rob,
Thanks for sharing that!!! I have an old D8 that has night function that i could use for the odd thing now instead of leaving it on the shelf as a paper weight!!! Will have to try it!
