Ronsrail
I was wondering if Ron Armstrong is still in business and making his rail. I am ready to purchase one; however, I can't raise his website. I was wondering if it is my machine or his website.

Hi
I think that is the website. The late answer from Ronsrail was two month ago and he was out off stock with the Rail. The best way seems to do your own rail in aluminium, i'm terminating the construction of one, the rail's dove tail adapts directly on the fluid head, i'have added a (2) quick lock system from Novoflex one for the cam the other for the lense. Why go to the trouble and expense of making a rail out of aluminum? Half-inch plywood is just as good, just as light, and can be fashioned using woodworking tools, not a machine shop. Just screw in a mounting plate and you're ready to go. New parts or features can be added as the need arises. I have used one for years.

Hi Steve
You'r right, but my neighbor is milling machine operator not cabinetmaker, that's the only reason. |
