Moods from The Norwegian West Coast
Just a little short from my 2007 activities with my XLH1.
The city is Aalesund and was rebuilt after a huge fire in 1904. All houses are built in Jugendstyle - very nice. "Stemning" = "Mood" QTfile: http://home.tussa.com/gibb/gibb/Stemning1qt.mov WMVfile: http://home.tussa.com/gibb/gibbwmv/Stemning1wmv.wmv Geir Inge |

Very nice scenes and editing. I really like how you frame your shots. Just out of curiosity, what were the pile of stones for that the man was standing on?

Hi Mark and thank you very much for comments.
The pile of stone is an old Viking graveyard. The clip is filmed at a small island called Kvamsoy, where I'm born and raised. I don't live there anymore though, but my fathers house is about 100 meters from this pile of stone. There are about 60 of these graveyards at this island, but this is the biggest one. PS The man is me :) Geir Inge |

That's very interesting. Here we have indian burial mounds that serve the same purpose. Here is a link :

You have a facinating nature there, Geir Inge.
Nice choice of music, and stunning images! In one of the clips it seems like there was some heavy seas. Thanks for sharing. |

hi geir, that was a lovely way to start the morning.
i love that shot of the ship in the harbor in the foreground and the island in the background. such amazing depth to that shot, and, while it is a still shot, it implies so much activity. your landscape shooting is awesome. |

Thank you all for kind words.
Trond: Yes the sea was a bit "heavy" at the time, it's filmed early Spring (May 2007) at Runde. It's my wife and my youngest daughter at the cliff, you can see she's holding tight to our Elisabeth :) Bob: Yes, I love the place where I live, but then again I sometimes wish I could travel more. My wife and I do have plans when we retire though :) Meryem: The clip you mention is from Aalesund city and the boat is "Hurtigruta", or "Coastal Express" in English. For some it's counted to be one of the worlds greatest sea journeys. Goes every day from Bergen to Kirkenes, and back. Here's a link: http://www.hurtigruta.info/Index_Eng.html There are 13 different ships and it takes one week to travel from Bergen to Kirkenes. Geir Inge |
