50mm,75mm,100mm bowls

Is there any advantage to bowl size?
I'm using a new Sony HDR-HC5...weighs about an ounce...ha ha

There's no advantage to be gained with your particular camera. The larger bowls are designed to support more weight but they don't add any performance to the tripod. The actual head will determine the performance. So for your camera a 50mm bowl with a great head would save you weight and get you great shots.
