Stabilized Head

Does anyone know of any attempt to build a stabilized tripod head, kind of a head/gimbal? I was shooting with a long lens in windy conditions recently and it occurred to me that such a thing could be very helpful.

Re: Stabilized Head

Assuming your tripod assembly has sufficient strength
I would try increasing its mass by attaching weights to it.
