What sticks adjust height the quickest?
I been wanting to get better tripod set up. For head I been lusting after the FSB series range from Sachtler. But I don't know what sticks to pick :/
I do a lot of event work so I would say that the ability to adjust height quickly and being lightweight is really important. Any recommendations? |

Well, the old O'Conner Hot Pod which is still the newsmans favorite. O'Connor though is now Sachtler and they have a newer updated version of the Hot Pod called the Soom. there are 3 versions I think and they DO have 2 versions of the Hot Pod again the news mans fav.

Bogen 540 ART legs have a push button on each leg. You'd have to find them used I think.

Re: What sticks adjust height the quickest?
We have the "older" verison of the Manfrotto 058B Legs ((previously known as 3251 series) and absolutely love them. We have 4 sets of these legs and they have lasted us almost 15 years and still going strong.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554073-REG/Manfrotto_058B_058B_Aluminum_Studio_Pro.html For setup, it literally takes 2 seconds to be at a standard working height. If extra height is needed there is a manual twist release on the bottom that will get the tripod in the 7' high range. Each set of legs ha 2 tabs. Just push any 2 tabs on any side, and all three legs drop simultaneously. Overall, for ease of set up, you can't beat these legs in my opinion. |

Victor,
You've gotten a few different suggestions here but make sure whatever you choose can handle the gear you're planning on using and allow yourself a bit of overage as it were. Hate to buy something and find out that it's at max capacity as soon as you think about adding 1 more accessory to your camera. Just sayin'!

Re: What sticks adjust height the quickest?
Something i didnt see on here is the oconnor 35l (or maybe 85l) legs...search and youll find what im talking about. Its a set that has a single button/switch to raise/lower all legs simultaneously, best of all can be found used on ebay for a few hundred.

Re: What sticks adjust height the quickest?
Also, I've been looking to maybe upgrade my head too, but I don't mind looking on ebay. I've been looking at something like the DV6SB head. Maybe an option for you (Victor) if you don't want to spend the money on a new FSB head.
