Head for a slider which uses Libec base plate, possible?
I have a rig sat on top of a Libec RS250, i would really like to be able to slide the rig out and slide it into *something* on top of a slider i have.
But i'm struggling finding another head (perhaps a ball head or simple fluid) that is compatible with the Libec base plate. The rig i'm using has a giottos base inside there and i know that is not compatible with the libec, so i assume must manufacturers use different sized plates? So i've got Camera->Giottos->Rod based Rig (Shoot35)->libec plate. This slots into the tripod nice and easy, but what can i use for the slider. Am i going to be stuck with finding another libec head? Anyone solved something like this? cheers Paul |

Re: Head for a slider which uses Libec base plate, possible?
You can set it up like so:
Camera Giottos Shoot35 baseplate ---Manfrotto 501PL plate---- ---Manfrotto 577 quick release clamp--- Libec plate ---Manfrotto 501HDV / 503HDV--- I'm not sure if there are other flat base tripod heads out there. I know there's a 502HD but I'm not sure if there's a separate plate clamp for that yet. Cheers, Zexun |

Re: Head for a slider which uses Libec base plate, possible?
Thanks, i think i got there myself
I've just got a Giottos QR baseplate on the way, so will try using that Libec -> Libec -> Giottos QR -> Giottos -> Shoot35 - > Giottos ->Camera Then i can get a giottos ball head or fluid for the slider. Bit of a pain, why can't we have a standard tripod base plate size... thanks again Paul |
