360
I am looking to purchase a head with a 501PL sliding plate allowing me to use it with the 561BHDV-1 monopod when it finally comes back into stock.
It needs to rotate 360 as I will be using it with a slider which is going to be placed vertically Manfrotto 486RC2 Demonstration 1 - YouTube It needs to do what the head does above between (0:07 to 0:13) of the video. The only ones I can seem to find are the Manfrotto 057 but that is over £200 a hell of a lot of money. |

Re: 360
If I understand your question correctly, the easiest and cheapest solution to your problem is one of these:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/241139-REG/Manfrotto_577_577_Rapid_Connect_Adapter.html This will allow you to convert ANY tripod head that has either a 1/4" or 3/8" screw/ bolt on top to take a Manfrotto 501 plate. That includes all still photographic and video heads and any QR plate system that uses one or other of the above mentioned screws for camera attachment. HOWEVER do be aware that any single screw/ bolt fixing will have a tendency to simply screw the adaptor off said screw/ bolt if enough force is applied in the correct direction, therefore I would recommend using it with a unit that has a slotted QR plate allowing you to use either two (2) 1/4" screws or one (1) 1/4" and one (1) 3/8". Either of those combinations will ensure it can never self detach and the underside of the 577 is drilled and tapped for both of these combinations. CS |
