Twin 3/8" screws - industry standard centres?

Just in case anyone was wondering if I knew EVERYTHING about camera support, here's a hole in my knowledge to prove the contrary.

I've never seen or played with a camera that has mounting holes for 2 X 3/8" in - line screws for the slide plate connect.

Slide plates aren't any help as I don't have one drilled for only twin 3/8" screws.

So, is there an industry standard, and if so, what is it?

Thanks in advance.
