How to reverse zoom lever of Sony VCT-870RM?

Does anyone know how to reverse the orientation of the zoom lever on the remote control of the Sony VCT-870RM? In other words, I'd like to have the zoom go telephoto when pushing lever forward and zoom go to wide when pulling back on lever.

Sony tech support says that it's impossible. Any solutions?

Thanks
Jr.

Nothing is "impossible", but likely extremely difficult in his case - typically the rocker activates tiny microswitches on a circuit board, and I would expect it would be some seriously tricky surgery to "remap" depending on the circuit board design (if it's multilayer, the complexity increases substantially) - not saying it might not be possible, just that you'd be risking whether the end result would work at all.

I know what you're talking about, I use the little RM-AV2, and you can just flip it around so it's "logical".
