Sachtler DV-4II, Bogen 516 w/ 515, Miller DS-10
I've done a search for entry level pro tripod systems for the XL2 and narrowed it down to these three models. We only have $1000 left in our budget so if we were to chose from these three models, which one would be our best bet? XL2 will only consist of extended battery, and LCD field monitor. Total weight should be around 10-11 pounds.
1) Sachtler DV-4II with Stage 2 legs. 2) Bogen 516 head with 515 legs. 3) Miller DS-10 with Stage 1 legs. I can't see what the difference is between stage 1 and stage 2 legs. Can someone tell me what the difference is? Also, since the Bogen combo can handle up to 22 pounds, will that help in keeping the camera steadier than the other two? My main concern is, I'll be using the TELEPHOTO end of the XL2 much more so panning stability and "non-jittery" footage is the main concern. Thanks so much for your help! |
