Davis tripod vs. Bogen

Well all my last hurdle is to figure out a tripod. I was going to go with the Bogen Wilderness tripod but I'm not sure how much of a problem not having the cross leg braces would be. I'm going to have a Gl2 with a 835b mic and a wireless mic on top, so I need to go to something that supports more than 10 lbs. I'm really skimped for cash at this point so less that 300 is where I need to be on a video tripod. I need something that will mostly do mulitipurpose parties and weddings. Thanks in advance.

I got the 3046 legs and 501 video head for $404 Canadian.

Which 'should' be less than $300 US.

So far I am pretty happy with it, the 3046 legs are pretty sturdy but heavy. They extend up to about 8 feet in height, which is nice.
