Tripod Question
Thanks for the input on my earlier post. I am eagerly awaiting my PD-170. Now I need a new tripod. I have narrowed the choice down to the following:
1. Gitzo 1325 carbon fiber with 2380 head. 2. Miller Solo Dv5 or DV10. I realize that I would be spending more bucks on the Miller but, I would like to know if it is possible to mount a digital Slr to the tripod. With the Gitzo the Series 3 allows swapping of a flat plate with the 75mm bowl. While traveling, the use of one tripod would be handy. Thanks in advance. |

You could mount the dSLR to the Miller, but it would not be an ideal solution. The tripod is designed and constructed to be used with video, not still photography in mind. the controls are awkwardly placed for stills and the weight is excessive. Depending upon your height, the tripod may set up too low and be uncomfortable to use and lacks a center column
