Lower Mid-Range Tripod <$500
I have a GL2 and am looking into a new tripod. I have a Slik 300DX that I use mainly for digital stills, but really need something more suitable for video. I have the Canon '58H wide-angle on at all times and use BP930's. At most, I may mount a 10w Canon light and Beach Tech mixer at a later point. This is more of a serious hobby for me right now.
I see a Bogen/Manfrotto MDeVe 755B Tripod with 503 Fluid Head and Case for $471.00 Same kit with the 501 head is $100 less. Is the 503 worth the price difference? What do you guys recommend in this price range and why? Rus P.S. I have already done some searches, but would like some new, fresh opinions.

I think I've found a good compromise between compact, price, and performance in a tripod kit for light duty work.
I picked up a Bogen 3180N for $178.00 http://www.jandr.com/JRProductPage.process?RestartFlow=t&Section_Id=1&Product_Id=2987014 It works great on the GL2 on the go. It certainly won't be up to par with something like a 501/3011wn combo, but I think it's an excellent value for under $200 if you're looking for something in the compact range. Just my two cents.
