Vinten Pro-6 on a Stills Tripod???
I just got an XL2 and the fluid head I am using for it know is just to cheap, it does not work at all, so I am looking into getting the Pro-6 head but my tripod legs I am using know are stills photography legs.
Will the Pro-6 head fit these legs?: Velbon | EL Carmagne 530A Tripod Legs | ELCARMA530A | B&H Photo Thanks A Lot, CJ |

Hi again.............
Well, I've checked out the Pro 6 maintenance manual and would have to say the answer is no.
Think you're either up for a Vinten 75 mm bowl tripod for the Pro 6 (using a Vinten head on non - Vinten sticks is a recipe for trouble) or a Manfrotto flat bottomed head like the 503HDV with your current sticks. CS |

Hmmm............
Guess that depends on your definition of "support".
Hold the setup a certain distance off the ground, undoubtedly. Doing so controllably is another question altogether. Not just a head problem either. Stills supports are not known for their rotational rigidity (well, they don't need it, do they?). Add that to the rather hit or miss counterbalance on the 503 and it's going to be an "interesting" configuration. Still, you can only afford what you can afford, it'll do as an interim measure until you get fed up to the back teeth with it. CS |
