Wing nuts or flip levers?
While comparing a few tripods, I came upon the issue of the leg-lock type. I have a few questions....
What is the difference between wing nuts and flip levers? Is the type of leg-lock a big deal when picking out a tripod? Experienced tripod users, what are your preferences for the leg locking system and why? Feedback on this would be greatly appreciated :) |

I have both systems. Not really wing nuts but bolts with a handle to turn. I prefer the levers only because they are a bit quicker to set up but not like the handle bolts are tough to set up. IMO not a lot of difference in the setupsbut again I prefer the lever locks.

depending on what legs you're looking to get there might not be a big difference in price. I will only say to buy the best legs you can afford. The tripod is a piece of gear that will be with you for many many years to come. Well after the newest greatest camera you buy this year. Buy quality once and it will turn out to be cheaper in the long run BUT buy what you are comfortable with.
