Hello,
My name is Thomas McTeer and I am the president and inventor of the Scorpion Support.
I know this is going to appear to be purely a promotional pitch for my products but please here me out.
I have photographed weddings and Bar Mitzvahs for 25 years and video taped them for 8 years now.
I got into the video end when they were introducing the small Hi-8 video cameras. I realized right away to do high level productions with these small cameras you need a mixer to run 2 channels of sound and some place to put a high level shot gun mic and a wireless receiver, which left no place for a light. So I started building brackets to hold these extra items the small cameras had no room for.
I tried a shoulder mount the very first thing and discovered it did not work with the small cameras you hold directly to your eye. These small video cameras were more like shooting with the still cameras I had used for over two decades. So I designed an ergonomically bracket to work with these new small video cameras.
Bottom line is my gear is field-tested and works. I utilized the laws of physics to best support these small video cameras and imo there is none better.
I came up with a weight relive system I call the Kangaroo Pouch system that takes the weight off your back and puts it to the hips, reliving lower back strain.
No you I know you are all going to question the validity of this system, but believe me when I say it there is no better on the market for run and gun event coverage.
