As in good enough support from winds and small bumps in full telephoto zoom?

Hmmm.............

Well, my 520's with a 503 head used to get a bit snakey with the XL1s @ X16 in a breeze, and certainly couldn't take the bumps and stuff.

With a X20 think you'd be in trouble.

You may just squeak in under the bar in SD but HD would be impossible IMO.

As I mentioned, there's another guy here (Ashok) that uses a XL2 on a set of 525's (admittedly with a telescope attached to the front) and he's thrown in the towel with them.

Wonder if we can persuade another XL2 shooter to pipe up if they have 525's or similar?

You could just go with that package or similar and suck it and see, and start saving like mad if they don't fully suit.

Hmm interesting.. Thanks for your info Chris... Maybe I'll see if I can get up to $1000 for a tripod... MAYBE, highly doubt it though...

Thanks but no thanks, I doubt I could even afford it especially at the moment.

Edit: How about this http://www.vidinc.net/bo50.html that looks like it'd be great for that price. (Except I want the 503 head, not 501)

Hi Scott..........

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, for some reason this thread just doesn't want to signal updates.

That rig is even cheaper @B&H with the mail in rebate.

The same sticks & bag with the 503 is under $900 with the rebate.

Did you find anyone on the XL2 forum to give you the heads up about either of these rigs?
