2nd quick release plate and mount

I have a Bogen/Manfrotto 503 head (not 503 DV, just 503) and I recently got a Brevis kit with rails. I want to have the rails on a quick release plate so they can come on and off the tripod quickly, but would also like to leave my camera attached to a quick release plate. So I need another plate and mount. I think this is what I'm looking for but if someone knows firsthand please let me know. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...e_Adapter.html

Thanks

Chris, that's half of what I need. I also need a base to hold the plate.

Aaaah!

I get it, on re - reading your post the intent becomes clear.

I've actually got that very plate used on a Manfroot equipped suction cup automotive mount. It accepts both 1/4" and 3/8" bolts from underneath or, for alternative fixing, has 6 countersunk holes drilled for screw fixing to whatever you want.

It is most certainly the item you need for attaching the camera to a rail system.

Sorry I missed it first time round.

QR577-has the base and the plate. All compatible with 501,503 and 501 503HDV heads. I have a couple of them and they have been a wonderful asset to my collection.
not to expensive either.

I've bought the same play and base combo, and the base attaches nicely to various steady sticks and mono monopost, and some self made shoulder brace rigs. Great to have around.

Not sure how that would go with the rails set up.

I assume the plan is to mount the base above the rails to slide in. I am not so sure you are going to have the adjustment capability to make that actually work, so be forwarned.

I've got the Cinevate rails and there is height adjustment for the camera mount, and two holes on that mount through which to screw down the base, so I'm thinking it should work.

I've got two "plates" already mounted on my cameras for use with the 501 and 503 heads.
What I need is an additional base for a monopod. I can't find just the base part alone.
Anyone know if that is available?

never seen the mounting base only-the QR577 has the base and plate so you'd end up with an 'extra' plate.
