Dolce & Gabbana, HVX-200 & Steadicam
I happened to open the NYTimes Style Magazine [Spring Feb 25, 2007] issue and lo and behold...a two page spread featured a "Steadicam Operator" and Panasonic HVX200 camera.
I'll let this scan of the picture say it all. By the way, it looks the the operator is working in his briefs. |

Yeah, we've been "admiring" this one in the Steadicam world for a while...there's more here:
http://eng.dolcegabbana.it/dolcegabbana.asp A few years ago there was a similar attempt to merge Steadicam and high fashion, the difference was that they had the rig strapped on one of the female models. It worked much better. MUCH better! At least we can see where he seems to be keeping his spare batteries. Oy.

So that's what it's like to be a Steadicam operator!
I thought I'd have trouble wearing the vest... but it looks like the easiest part of the SOA uniform. |

I like how the monitor is setup for low-mode, but the rest of the rig isn't. Wait. I see a TB-6, a Modulus, a Dionic...this isn't YOUR rig, is it?! :-)
Seriously though, you ever find out who rented their rig out for this?
