I've gotten very fond of Dominion Lager and their Oak Barrel Stout too. Full bodied like a beer should be :).

Funny you should mention them... I started out to get some Groelsh after seeing a billboard, ended up in a Guiness mood though. After leaving the beer aisle at Wally Mart, I wanted a Black and Tan, went back, but they didn't have any Harps. Go figger. It was great at Epcot... going to the UK and getting a half yard of Black and Tan... going back for a refill... and again... ;)

Try Warsteiner Dunkel, for those who like real, true, dark German beer! It's my favorite by far, but I can only buy it at World Market in my area, hard to find.

Now that you mention it, it seems like the two do go hand in hand ;)

So where was the Shiner back at the secret head quarters in April?

I checked and it's hard to find in that town. Next year we'll have a keg flown out.

That reminds me of my days in Broadcast Radio. I was working for a KFAT format radio station in California and I asked the listeners where I could get a Lone Star. That turned into a media event and Lone Star Beer set me up with T-shirts, a Pool Table Light, Tie-Clips, and lots of other promo stuff. They even sent out a beautiful spokeswoman with a few cases of Lone Star. Man, I sometimes miss free form FM radio, back in the day.

Geeze... based on the member count I always thought DVinfo was a VANCOUVER based forum... Heh heh heh... Just kidding. Mostly..... Seriously though, did I tell you guys I finally had Shiner Bock in Hollywood? Found it at a little ghetto convenience store that also had a bottle of grain alcohol with a rattle snake in it. I could only afford the Shiner (which is probably why I'm still alive), it was good, even by my standards....

No, for some strange reason none of us can actually remember that. Must be a doctored photo! ;-)

Chris, sounds like a good DV/HDV test. The close-up of a frosty mug with the golden brown color. Note the detail of the bubbles rising through the liquid and how the slight off white of the head shows up under the halogen lights with the white balance set. You will need a keg to make sure you have a fresh glass for every test.

Well, went to Wegmans and bought my first 6 pack of Shiner bock. Tastes good, real good. I'll add it to my short list of preferred beers. Who needs Guiness? Not me.
