Closed-Caption Comedy
I accidentally pushed the CC button on my TV while watching C-SPAN. I think the electronic voice-to-print translator may have been programmed by an extra-terrestrial. Many of the words on the screen could have come from the Vulcan Dictionary. The other channels I watched, gave mostly flawless CC rendition. Some examples from C-SPAN are, "Whoist I sklein to admire her ten assity, I have always been a par med jake ireland"; "It's an honor for skliepingst pepel"; "I'm a doctor and a summeron, with a sklipan nurse and I sqwonk abite it duly". The very best was, "Think wobally, act loco". I wonder what a non-hearing person might think about what's going on in Washington? If you think I'm making this up, tune in yourselves.
I've had a scary afterthought: Suppose they don't use a computerized translator, but this is coming from a live person?

Guess the machine was programmed to listen to educated people's spelling, not to politicians...
