Flo and Eddie (The Turtles)

The Turtles as playing tonight at Epcot Center. Does anyone know if they forbid video of their concerts?

Some groups allow it, and some do not. I got 90 minutes of Arlo Guthrie on my Sony FX1 the other night and it looks so good I will be showing it to friends and family for years to come. Probably on Thanksgiving since over 18 minutes of it is Alice's Restaurant.

Disney does not have a number I can call to ask. I have tried before.

Did anyone see them last night? Have you seen them before and remember that they did or did not allow video taping?

I just don't want to carry the camera and tripod if it is just going to stay in the bags. You know? I will still go one way or the other.

Nevermind

I had my nights confused. I missed them. Herman's Hermits started tonight, and will play through Sunday night. By the way, they allow video to be shot during concerts.

I saw the Turtles in Baltimore in 1986 and they were great! If they haven't changed their schtick in 20 years then they'll run on stage dressed as hard rockers totally blowing out their amps and pretending to be lunatics. Then they'll stop, pull off the costumes and get into their top 40 hits from the 1960s. I heard Herman's Hermits also puts on a fabulous show.

This week I saw a tribute band named Transit Authority who played all Chicago songs. Tonight starts a tribute to the Eagles from a band named Hotel California. This goes on all summer.

Since the groups we saw from the 60s usually only had one original guy anyway, these groups are just as good, considering they play the music the way we remember it. They don't mess with it, and they still have their voices.

Steve, you're correct! That is why I like tribute bands because, like the many "Beatlemania" bands out there, they play the music exactly the way we remember they sounded on the albums.
