Wow.
Just to disclose what that link is. It's a special to the Star written by Sarah Polley who we know now as the lead from the "Dawn of the Dead" remake and indie IT girl for the last few years. But she was also that little girl from "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen". In the article she pens a letter to Terry Gilliam telling him basically how traumatic that experience was and how everyone should have their eye on how child actresses are handled in productions in the future espwhen they film "Tidelands", again with an ingenue Canadian girl actress. And in the same article there is a reply from Gilliam. The tone of both articles is quite nice.

I'm impressed with the letters too. What strikes me is how Terry writes back sympathetic, but not to much. It's like a little dance they played.
Maybe when she's 55 years old she'll write the director of "Dawn of the Dead"? lol..she'll say the zombies gave her nightmares? I think some things have changed in 17 years...child work laws are pretty strict now. No one wants to get busted for messing around today...it's simply a no no.

That's why you got to hire kids from war torn countries.
Kidding of course. (No pun intended, either.) |
