Orson Welles, forgotten history.......
Orson Welles' The Magnificent Ambersons finally comes to DVD. - By Elbert Ventura - Slate Magazine
The man was a genius, no mistake. Seen the movie and was just captivated, so slick it was just like taking a blood warm dip at a spa. I think I actually rate it over Citizen Kane, though it's not too far behind. Would have been interesting to see HIS ending though, sounds more in keeping with the story as it unfolded. CS |

Re: Orson Welles, forgotten history.......
Thanks for those, Allan, no, I hadn't seen either of them before, though I knew he had a seriously wicked sense of humour.
Almost more humourous than the second clip was the error message I got the first time I clicked on the first link: Link Error 500, then, something about when the team of highly trained monkeys sent to fix the problem are met, give them this, followed by what looked like what said team would have typed in the average day. Wish I'd had the presence of mind to post it for posterity. Very good from a techno wonk, I thought. Thanks again. CS |
