Getting Thru to the President
I saw this on FSTV last night (actually recorded it by accident a couple of weeks back). It wasn't even in the listings, just tacked onto the end of a documentary about Hoodia Cactus to fill the hour. It's a little 10 minute documentary that shows again how simple it can be to make a good video. All you need is a good idea and a camera crew.
Their total budget (besides staff & technical) was for a few rolls of quarters, a diner coffee paper-cup, and a few bumper stickers with a phone number on them. Their set was several NYC phone booths. You can see more about it at: here I thought it was really interesting and entertaining. Well worth seeking it out.

All I found was the trailer, but that was good enough to get me on the phone (if you watch 'til the end, the White House comment-line number's displayed).
Remember that the comment-line operators are not policy makers in the White House---they're just folks like us. I guess it's like admonishing your noisy neighbor: make your point, keep your cool, no yelling . . . JS |

I tried to find the film on-line. I did not find it yet, but i did find this discussion of how it was made....
http://www.gothamist.com/archives/2004/10/27/getting_through_to_the_president.php It really is pretty funny, as I am sure you can guess from your own phone call.
