There is relatively new technology called pod casting that has also added support for video. It's a natural extension to blogging, and RSS newsfeeds.
To find out more you can go to http://ipodder.org.

This is basically an extension of RSS news feeding concept. In addition to ipodder and itunes, there are free systems available for Windows Media users (Doppler....).
The basic setup for either Mac or Windows is to get
ipodder and itunes installed on your system. Then you use Ipodder to subscribe to various feeds around the net. You can setup ipodder to periodically scan your sites, or you can do it manually.

This has quickly become an important way for unsigned artists or artists who subscribe to the creative commons system to get their music out. It's being adapted to independent film too.

The cool part, is it's on demand distribution performed by the end recipient who downloads the music or video to their local PC. Legally.

Some are also adding bit torrent feeds/links to help manage bandwidth, so I'm skeptical about the feds shutting down a legitimate system.

A friend of mine named Chris MacDonald is running a site called http://www.indiefeed.com with several genres of music. He only supplies non RIAA signed artists. He is a big supporter of indepndent music and the Creative Commons concept which reatains copyright and control in the artists hands, not some big megacorp.
Every week he gets mp3s from those wanting exposure, adds a front end introduction (voice) and there you go. You subscribe to his podcasts the same way you subscribe to RSS feeds, including pasting the link into ipodder.

Chris has lots of links to other independent music sites, and to the home site for Creative Commons. One of my favorites is a weekly radio type talk show galled geek news. There are a growing number of movie review podcast sites as well.

Think about it. Blogging your movies direct to those interested.

To get some interesting info on pod casting here is a link to Chris' main blog site
http://blindingflashes.blogs.com/blinding_flashes/

But Ipodder.org is THE place to go to get info on how to get started.

Getting to the point of my post here....
Setting up a forum with podcast links to several sites (including those being hosted by dvinfo) might be a better idea than a simple p2p approach. And more dynamic, since a director could update his/her feed when he/she makes changes.
