help with a quote
This quote:
"the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing man he didn't exist" Was it originated in Christopher McQuarrie's excellent script for THE USUAL SUSPECTS, or was did it originate from somewhere else? Thanks, heath

I read it years ago in a short story "The Generous Gambler." My brother says there is a similar line in Faust by Goethe.

The line is, indeed, from "The Usual Suspects". I believe I read that the quotation is actually attributed to a story by Charles Baudelaire.

I couldn't remember the author of the short story, but that's it, Charles Baudelaire.
