For those in NYC
Hey, for all the readers in New York, could you recommend any good NYC neighborhoods to live in, for people in their 20s. I'm thinking of moving there within the next year, and I'm looking for any recommendations of where to live. I'm 22, and know only a few people there, so I'd like to be around people my age, etc, etc. As opposed to in a mostly "family neighborhood"
Thanks. |

Anywhere in Midtown West/Hells Kitchen/Upper West Side is full of 20-somethings... That's where all the nightlife is located. Either that, or East Greenwich Village. Of course, all these areas can be quite expensive, and most people that live there have the means to pay $1500 or more per month for a studio apartment.

I've known several people who have lived in Brooklyn - it's just a hop and skip over to Manhattan, and the prices are much lower.
I've never lived there, but I love lower Manhattan. Definitely the East Village, and also near NYU, where you'll always find lots of young folks. And lots of artsy folks too... |

I'd go with East Village or Lower East Side in Manhattan. Lots of 20 somethings and more reasonable rent than most other areas. In Brooklyn, I'd go with Williamsburg. Or maybe Park Slope.
