King Pimp of Cell Phones

Thanks to some feedback from a previous thread on cell phones, I got a toy...err... business tool, that is just so cool I have to share it with everyone.

I wanted an all in one device that would be a cell phone, play MP3's, be a camera phone for "fun pics", decent internet access, and have some PDA abilities.

I came up with the Sony Ericson P800 (although there is a P900 and P910 now, they are mostly the same except for a higher quality screen, and double the price)
Check it out:

Yeah, it's got cool stuff, Bluetooth, GPRS, an HTML web browser, MP3 player, camer, blah blah blah... You can even get DOOM for it. Real DOOM! Faster framerate than my PC at the time had too. Some of the games are better than PS1 quality too.
However...
This single coolest thing is the video player.
Full screen, feature length films, on your cell phone! A 128mb memory stick will hold a 2 hour movie at a very decent resolution. Squeeze the compression, and you can get a movie down to about 60 megs.
The ultimate portable entertainment tool? Someone late for a meeting and you've got time to kill? Forgot to take a book with you to the doctors office? This is it baby!
Currently on my phone for videos:
Pulp Fiction
a Futurama episode
my demo reel

I just finished rendering a version of Dawn Of The Dead, and Hellboy as well. Time to buy more Memory Sticks. Wish it took Compact Flash instead.

Anyone else use one of these wicked, WICKED phones?

The MpX is definitely going to be the new king of the hill over the P900, except it probably won't be in Canada until 2005. Plus, I think it's going to be something like $1000us, double the price of what I paid for my P800 two months ago.

John, I had to render the .avi I have of DOTD'04 to an MP4 to play on the P800. It still creeps the hell out of me even on the small screen.

Sounds great Dylan. As you know I have the Nokia 6600 which
does similar things. I just upgraded to 256 MB MMC for $40 and
have my Lady X episode on there as well, together with doom 1
as well (hehe) and a car GPS navigation system with every street
in my country and two others. Only downside is that it is mono
(I do have an MP3 player installde though).
