Cashing in on Digital Video article by Motley Fool
I was simple curious if this community of experts would agree with the assessments by Jeremy MacNealy of "The Motley Fool" where he gives a thumbnail view of the respective editing software and also says the AG-DVX100A digital camera is the "most important camera on the market for independent film producers."

Well, he did modify that statement about the Panasonic with "perhaps", which is a good choice (for an investment-oriented site like the Fool, it's only logical to avoid absolutes), and I would agree that it is perhaps the most important camera! At the current time, etc etc. Certainly for the price, it's a complete package and has good image quality and 24p mode. Six months from now my guess is that the XL2 will have to be mentioned in the same breath, but with the caveat of higher price tag. And a year from that, it will likely be all about HD or HDV.
For those who wonder "why do you say six months? The XL2 comes out in a few weeks!", nothing happens overnight. It will take time for the new camera to establish itself and achieve enough market saturation to be counted as a viable force.
