Olympics in HD
I've been enjoying the Olympics in HD, does anyone know what equpment NBC is using? The opening ceremony was fantastic.

It is a very nice picture, but they seem to still be working out the bugs: the picture blacks out for a second every now and then. They re-aired the opening ceremonies about five times, which got ridiculous, and now we can all mouth that WEGA ad by heart. Hey Todd! Hey Todd! Hey guys. Whatchya doing? Watching the game. In high def? Yeah. Can we watch too? I don't know. We brought chips. Orchestra hit. And salsa! OK...

On a fairly related note, has anyone seen Kon Ichikawa's Tokyo Olympiad 1965?
I can't recommend this cinematic treatment of the Olympics highly enough.

looks like sony hd cams the operators are fiited with lcds and steady cam rigs...the cameras are HUGE...
i was watching swiming the other day and the mounted camera was shaking just as if it was mounted on a diving board |

I tuned into the HD broadcast of the opening ceremonies at 8pm on the 13th, only the ceremony they were airing was the 2002 Winter Olympics...
Yeah that commercial is the devil. |
