Very interesting... it's like Mortal Kombat for a new generation.
Don't know how I feel about the game, but I must say I'm a huge fan of the film. I was surprised to learn that it actually wasn't a huge box office success. I imagine maybe it's because of the title - might have made many think it was just another studio gore-fest. But the writing, the conveying of everyday angst... and the loop-de-loop ending. What a film! |

the game kind of defeats the purpose of the movie. "fight club" isn't about physical fighting it's about the spiritual, emotional, intellectual fighting. it needed to be physically only because film is a visual medium and you needed physical representations of intellectual ideas.

It's a game, to make money. I don't think they care about anything beyond that.

Wow, I cannot force myself to believe Chuck Palahniuk would permit this sort of a thing. The movie was enough, but a video game? This potentially great novel is falling victim to the very vices it satirizes.

imho, the movie was better than the book, which was a bit of a mess.

I think you're right, Imran. The title, along with Brad Pitt, is exactly why I stayed away from this film. I'm very glad I had a friend approach me about it, though. "It's not what you think it is." It sure wasn't. Fight Club isn't high art, but I've gotten a lot out of this film.
