Film Festivals
Hey Gang,
we are finishing our nature documentary, "An Osprey Homecoming" and are starting to look ahead to marketing and such. Although we have a couple of our local PBS stations who may well broadcast it, I think we are going to try the film festival route first, and I would like to get some recommendations for festivals we should enter. I want you to think BIG ala Sundance. Any other experiences or advice are also appreciated. TIA

Here is another one that has gotten more and more popular each year, the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival in Hot Springs Ar.
From what I've heard, it's become popluar among companies looking for good docs. http://www.docufilminst.org/ They also have work shops (It's actually called the Hot Springs Documentary Film Institute). That part of the state is beautiful, especially in Oct during the fest. |
