Anyone Use iTunes for Windows? I Have a Problem.
Got a new computer (XP platform) and wanted to download songs from iTune. Here's what happened:
* everytime I try and download I get a "Unknown Error 403" message; no songs get downloaded (I've already been billed for three, though). The easiest so-called corrective, doing the "Advanced" retry , has solved nothing so far. * various suggestions so far have led me to temporarily disable whatever firewalls I have, or to delete any Macafee file (the program is incompatible with iTunes Windows); so far nothing has changed that %*&@# Error 403 message. * I also hear about changing the "web acceleration" or "http" ports." I'm no computer geek; I just want my songs! * the only consolation is that I'm apparently not the only Windows users tormented by wiggy iTunes error messages--just check their own forum! It shouldn't have to be this difficult--I can download anything and everything else online, but so far I've been stymied by a simple download procedure at iTunes. Anyone else being similiarly frustrated? |

HTTP error code 403 means forbidden.... I'm not running iTunes
myself so I don't have any experience to help you. That error is normally coming from the webserver so I'm wondering whether you gave the correct password to your account. Otherwise it might be you are running an older version of the software?

Thanks for the response; it's the latest software and my password as entered is correct--but I've learned that iTunes provokes alot of wiggy problems among XP users, so there's no obvious answer yet. If I find a solution in my case I will post it here. :D
