I was born in Poland. My Polish name is not easy to pronounce in English : Wojtek Szczytko - so I changed the way it's spelled so people could actually call my name as close to the original pron. as possible.

Glad you like it.

Hello

Hi, how are you doing today?

Im a freelance director, DP, LD, audio engineer, TD, editor, production manager and so on and so forth! I do it all, fortunately or unfortunately.

Haven't found a good forum to discuss topics, learn and share with broadcast/indie pros so I thought I'll get involved here. I'm in NYC, in the business for close to 20 years and a lifetime learner. I use DSR500, 300, DVC Pro, 24p and Pro Tools on a regular basis.

Thanks

Hi,

Well I haven't heard of XM2 or used it but reading responses from other users having the same exact problem is a telltale sign that the problem is with the camera and not your operation of it. Perhaps it slipped through cannon's attention because it does seem like an extreme problem if you intend to use the camera professionally.

If you're going to use it for work I'd consider another camera or wait until, if and when, cannon comes out with a revised version.

True, purple can be problematic and sometimes it's not a big deal even in broadcast to have it inaccurate but if it's reproduction is important to what you're shooting it's just unacceptable.

Take care

Noob from NYC

Hey everyone.

Curtis Gwinn here. I'm a comedy writer and performer here in New York. Just joined the site a couple of weeks ago. I'm new to digital filmmaking, and just bought an XL2.

This site rocks, and is a total godsend for a noobie like myself. looking forward to annoying you all with questions and pleas for advice.

for New Yorkers

I didn't know where else to post this..

But, I was considering moving out to New your sometime in the next year or so, and I'd like for you to let me know of the cheapest places to stay. I don't really know much about the geography, but where is a cheap place to live (out of the projects)?
