Arthur from France

Hello,

I'm Arthur from Nancy, France.

I'm knowing/reading these boards since few months, but actually I'm searching a new camcorder so I've decided to take an account here.
Thank you so much for these DV Info boards, there are very useful for someone who read english.

What else ?
I'm now preparing my first short-movie (fiction) maybe shoot in HDV format.

I'm also a moderator for french-speaking boards : http://www.repaire.net/forums/ .

++

P.S : sorry for my english, I'm working hard to improve this point !

Hello Simon,

Thanks for the reply... ;-)

Actually, I'm looking for a small DV camcorder, like Sony pd-100 (pdx-10) or pd-150 (pd-170). I own a small sony trv-20, a good camcorder... but I want better image and better sound !

What will you be shooting?

What are your needs?

I have a Canon XL1 and am also in the process up buying a new camera.
I am looking at the JVC HD110. I mainly shoot my own short films and some corporate stuff.

Actually, I'm trying to get a job in video production, so I'm not a professionnal videographer.
I'm very fond of documentary films, and I directed two shorts documentary films during my studies. But now, i'm trying to develop a new project...
I mainly search a small camcorder both for a semi-pro use and also for shooting my spare time... In order to complete my equipement, I bought a new mic, maybe a rode mic.

It's funny, I'm involved in a project for a short-movie shooted in HDV, and this will be shoot with a JVC HD-110. It's a good camera !

Salut le cousin

Sorry for the text in french but its my first post and its funny to write to a guy in France if anyone of you need translation or help with French please let me know.

Bonjour Arthur

Gareth from Lyon...

I'm shooting right now on a Z1 and have so far to see a cheaper better camera for short film and documentary work... OK the new Sony V1 may be a successor but as yet is to be proven....several reviwers question the quality of the progressive capture...

the Z1 is a joy to use and give great results.. for price I stillm see it as a market leader...

MHO....
Both JVC and Canon are good cameras but dearer...

Amitiés
Gareth

Thanks Gareth for the reply,
but now the Z1 is not the cheapest camcorder for my budget... and DV format is perfect for my small NLE system.
