Hey there,

My name is John Yingling.

I've spent the better chunk of the last decade doing nothing but going to see bands play in basements, and I couldn't be happier, still to this day.

I started a shitty blogspot blog that is still a shitty blogspot blog, but prettier now. I called it Gonzo Chicago because I basically ran around with a small point and shoot camera, doing whatever I wanted (but not being a dick about it.)

Long story short, it's grown into something more than I ever thought. I book shows. Film bands. Take photos. Help out where I can.

The Chicago community really made it something special. Currently, I'm in Missoula, Montana, filming their underground scene. It's amazing here. These scenes...they exist everywhere. There's much more to come. Just thought I'd say hi.
