Hi - Just wanted to say hi. I've been traveling on the road for about 3 years taking in the sights. Have had a long time interest in video going back to my high school days. Our High School had a connection with WABC in NYC which donated tons of their old equipment to us. We were able to wire the school with RG/11U and broadcast video productions from within the school to classrooms for educational purposes. Later we installed a small studio and provided a feed to our local cable company. Back in 1970 this was quite advanced. We used mostly RCA equipment then like TR-2 and TR-5 VTRs. It's amazing how far the industry has come. Much of the equipment we had was old vacuum tube stuff. The wiring and designs were all works of art.
Now I have an editing system running on a Rain Recording LiveBook laptop. I make educational and adventure videos on that system running from 1-20 minutes. It works well for me. I'm using Sony Vegas Pro9, DVD Architect 5 and Blender. I have a Sony EX1 and their helmet cam. I've extremely happy with the EX1. Anyway that's the story. I hope I can pass along a few tid bits and learn from those knowledgeable folks here. |
