Hello there!
Hi there guys! I've been browsing the forum for about a week now but due to some technical stuff wasn't activated! Just saying hello, I'm Karl from UK, 17, currently studying a Btec in Media Production. Love film making. Currently got the best of both worlds. Home built windows pc at home, and several mac suits at college. While swimming in college work me and my friend are at the base of making some videos. We have a bunch of equipment at our fingertips so we thought about putting it to good use! We film on Canon LEGRIA type handcams. But as a first year, we're "not trusted" with the pro-sumer cameras! So i'm looking out to buy my own! Having a good ole chin-wag before i buy one too!
cheers Karl |

Hi Karl!
I'd never heard of Btec before this. It's a pretty cool vocational program you have over there. It makes me wish America had more magnet schools. Do you choose to go to a Btec school instead of going to your third year of high school, or does everyone make the switch? |

Well after our GCSE, which i believe is 9th and 10th grade, We get to choose from either 6th Form (A Level), which is 11th or 12th grade, or college, which is just more open to different courses, but still A Level. My school's 6th form didn't do anything media based, so i went on to college.
I used this to help me explain so hopefully this will make more sense! It's so different over in the States! But i seriously want to move out there! American and British English differences - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
