Hi,
I registered on here a few days ago but this is my first post. I've just graduated with a degree in animation here in the UK this summer, specialising in CGI, but over the past two years or so I started to lean much more towards live action and film and away from animation. Got experience of DV and editing whilst at university using their cameras, lights and audio equipment. I got an XL2 just this past week. No other equipment at the moment (the camera itself pretty much wiped me out!) besides a Velbon DV7000 tripod which i've been testing out and seems pretty good and solid. If anyone in the UK is interested, i got my XL2 and the tripod from my local Jessops. There RRP was £3300, I'd seen one for less online, and they agreed to take their price down a bit, and knocked a tenner off the tripod as well! I'm hoping to make a start on some music videos if possible but we'll see where it takes me. Other than that, maybe a few short projects to get the necessary experience and fine-tuned skills. Very interested in the whole 'cine-look' subject, and seeing what others are making, so i'll continue to keep an eye on the forum. From what i've seen so far it looks extremely helpful! an excellent camera, all the best with it! Sorry for my late welcome.
