Jealousy In Australia
Hi
I have made a couple of short films, shot on 16mm, which have picked up an award or two and have made it to the old idiot box. I have just purchased an XL1s and was able to complete another short in a flash. I cut it using FCP on an iBook. (My eyes are still recovering.) So why jealous? Canon Australia are great for info on copiers or printers; do they know anything about XL1s or their accessories... no. Do the retailers who sell XL1s know anything.... no. I had to get all of my info through sites like this. Thank god you exist. However, as the Aussie dollar is worth half a $US any "bargains" I read about do tend to make me turn an envious green. Oh well, I'm five minutes from the beach and it's a beautiful sunny day. Sydney is a great place to live. |

Don't worry. We have the same situation in Europe. Canon in Germany for example never has heared from the MM-XL1 adaptor that it distributed by Canon USA.
Be careful at the beach, you could turn red there ;-) Markus |

Chris, I've heard from so many XL1-owning Ozzies over the years, you guys could form your own owner's club. That camera sure is popular down there!
And Sydney must indeed be a great place to live -- it's the best place to see my favorite band of all time, I'm sure you know who I'm talking about, yes, the boys from the garage in Chatswood. I've never been down there, but hope to go in the next year or two, if I can do it without looking like a tourist. Thanks for joining us here, |

I'm sure someone in Sydney can help you out. If you can't find anyone contact Photo Continential in Bris and ask for Stuart. He sold me my XL1 in 99 and he know the guff
PS, just incase you didn't know who Chris is on about, it's The Oils

Chris, I almost choked on my coffee when I read you were the Saints guitarist. Growing up listening to punk and the like I remember The Saints very well

You'll have to forgive Chris Hurd for the Ozzie quote, remember he's a Texan. (See King of the Hill for more info)
