Central Louisiana
Hello,
Found this forum in the latest B&H Camera Catalog. I have spent the past few years gathering equipment (Building a fast editing Computer, learning Adobe Premiere, 6, 6.5, and now 7.0. I own a Sony DV TRV950. I guess I'm like many in that I am always looking for the "right" project to tackle. I've done a couple of Documentaries and TV Commercials. It would be great if anyone from the Central Louisiana Area would like to help with starting a Local Group for amature filmaking and enthusiasts. Good luck to every one here, and I'm looking forward to regular participation in this forum. John Miller 12-27-2003 |

Hi, John.
There are a few Louisianaians here. I'm in Baton Rouge, Nathan Gifford is in Tickfaw, and for awhile there was a gentleman from New Orleans. I know of no one in your area, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. As to a "local" group, the Louisiana Association of Video Professionals is the only one I know of that may be close to you -- www.lavp.org. It's mostly made up of wedding and event videographers, but there are a few independent "film makers" in the group. We meet in Baton Rouge, but we have folks that drive in from as far away as Lake Charles.
