Hello from Lubbock, TX
This site has made me look good more than once over the past few months so I thought it was about time I join in and (hopefully) return the favor. I originally found dvinfo while researching video equipment for a grant that I received earlier this year. All of the advice and answers I found in this forum truly made the project a success. So, huge thanks for that. In the process, you have converted an avid photographer into an amatuer videographer.
By day, I work as a programmer at Texas Tech University. At night (and in the wee hours of the morning) I am a graduate student of instructional technology. The grant that brought me to this site involves developing a new approach to K-12 biology education. I won't get into the gory details, but basically I spent a month in a Malaysian rain forest this summer filming bats and scientists with a film student (I got to work the 'B' camera and carry the tripod). Needless to say, it was an amazing experience and got me hooked on videography. |

Welcome to the forum. I'm jealous that you were able to film in the rain-forest. My former vacation camera (Panasonic PV-GS120) gave me the dreaded 'dew' warning just about every day in Costa Rica. Sold that pretty much a week after my return to the states.

It was a great trip. We didn't have as many problems with humidity as I thought we would. We had the occasional fogged up lens, but that's about it.
