35, but according to my wife between the ages of 14-18 depends on her mood. You all know how that goes.

I was sailing last July and ended up in Boston for my 20th birthday. Yes it was absolutely the worst birthday ever becuse your (im referring to you americans) country says im too young to drink a beer.. when i used to be in quebec i turned legal age 2 years before when i was 18.. i was very dissapointed..and had to spend my birthday drinking in the bar on my ship that i had been stuck in fo the past month.. but to make up for it 10 days later we were in st. john's, newfoundland on george street which has the most bars per capita than any other city in the world. George street ... bar after bar after bar after bar after bar..etc...
come to canada.. see the sites... and george street

63 3/4, in Adrian Mole terms.
I started editing audio on a wire recorder believe it or not, way back in 1960. |

A whoppin' 24 years. Most of my friends are over 40. Is that a good sign?

But then perhaps you're not old enough to have heard Dean or Frank or Bing singing at all. Silly me, sure they're probably not old enough either. |

how old am I
I thought I was 58 my last birthday. My wife said I was 59. She's right. Come to think of it, 57 seemed to last a couple of years.

I have a friend who has never told me her age. I always found that odd since she is not vain in the least and very down to earth. I found her refusal to ever tell her age unexplainable until she gave me the reason why: because it always sounds funny to hear it said, she told me. I thought about it and came to a total agreement.
After a certain age, our physical age stops being in sync with our mental and emotional age. This out-of-sync phenomenon, which starts maybe some time in our 40s, makes it hard for us to face the reality of our physical age, so just to hear oneself saying the number sounds vague and "funny" in a laughable sort of way. It is almost like telling a lie, only it is not. So for me to say I am 60 makes me laugh. I keep humming the Beatles' "When I get older, losing my hair...when I'm 64..." or Paul Simon's "...how terribly strange to be seventy..." Funny because I'm still 30something inside, that is, until I catch an unexpected glimpse of myself in a window - or should I say a glimpse of my father? I was born on the first VJ day - August 14, 1945. I guess I should say, to be exact, that I am 60.5 at the moment - 3/13/2006. “…how terribly strange…old friend” Ha! |

I'll be 49 this April. Typing that number suddenly made me feel a little light headed.
