Old guys

Hey, Paul! It's great to see another antique on the squad. For those of us who grew up shooting film (a lot of it in black and white), I believe digital technology has made dreams we never even had come true. I hope you younger folks appreciate the power you have and use it not just to amuse yourselves but to bring the world together in a new regime of communication and understanding.
Certainly MSM don't see it that way! Be independent- stay independent!

I just celebrated the 21st anniversary of my 30th birthday. Back in the day, it was "never trust anyone over 30" so I stopped having birthdays. I refuse to age gracefully. I got to this point kickin' and screamin', and I'll go out the same way. "Live hard, die fast, and get to heaven 10 minutes before the devil knows I'm dead."

17 goin on 18.
Yeah i know, seems very young compared to some
I think most teens will say this though when it comes to their age: Judge me by what i do and who i am, not how old i am.

I will be 77 in August. I have loved photography and video for many years.
I also have been a camera collector, and have owned many classic cameras.

My wife and I have videoed & edited many weddings for young couples at Church. I am not a professional by any means, but it is a great hobby. Due to diabetes & leg problems that is getting to be a thing of the past. I just can't keep up with the wedding party anymore.

I have done several documentries of Elk, Birds, Salmon in the Rogue River
here in southern OR

I use the Sony TRV950, TRV20, Canon Optura Pi. I also have a Sony 510-D8,
Canon ES 6000 Hi-8 & Canon ES 2000 Hi-8. I guess you could say I am a camera nut.

I first started editing with a Casablanca Avio. I also use an Apple E-Mac With Final Cut Express 2, which I use daily.

I Don't respond very often, but I log on and read the threads every day. I enjoy everyones comments. and have learned a lot.

Thanks for listening

Lord, now I feel old.

57.

Shot my first professional photo assignment with a 4x5 Speed Graphic.

Shot my first documentary on a 16mm Bolex.

Still have a library of 3/4 inch U-Matic tapes (and a Sony deck to play and edit them) and a TEAC reel-to-reel for audio work.

The Speed Graphic and Bolex are part of a display case of old equipment in one corner of our gallery now.

Just call me gramps.

My first post on here, but I've been lurking for a while, and from what I can tell, I'm one of, if not the youngest here.

I'm... Wait for it... 15.

I've made 3 or 4 small little basement films, but my next short looks like it'll be a competition piece. Obviously I'm shooting all DV.

I guess I have a head start though because my father is a video editor and former cameraman (his work on Evening Magazine won him 3 Emmys, anybody remember that show?) and he basically raised me on making videos and editing.
