Hello from Brighton, UK, my name is Ocean Zen
Hi
I'm a musician living on the South Coast of England (Brighton). I'm in my 3rd Year at Uni studying BA Hons Digital Music, but for my final project have decided to make a short film/music vid. It's quite an ambitious film, involving a lot of green screen work. So far from my research, I've decided to shoot 1080p25 over 50i on a Canon HV20 but bypassing the HDV compression by capturing to a Mac Pro with the BlackMagic Intensity card. I've read it is important for chroma-key work to have at least 4:2:2 colour space. I'll probably be capturing to the ProRes422codec as I will alsio be getting Final Cut Studio 2. Also I have a Dubstep/Electronica EP out on Vinyl & Download in the next couple of weeks. Check out www.myspace.com/escapeeplanes to listen and buy Thanks Ocean |

Ocean had a little trouble getting in here because of his unique name, which was flagged during the registration process (because of our strict real-names-only policy). He even went to the trouble of sending me some verification that this is indeed his name! Sorry for the hassle, Ocean, and welcome aboard DV Info Net.

Welcome Ocean.
My name is Jon Jones..... so understandably, I tend to have very special appreciation for some of the more unique and original names out there. Right on. Sounds like you're working on a great project. Enjoy the forums. -Jon

I have just bought 10 x 20 foot of chroma key green muslin. I will rig this up on microphone standsin the black dance studio at uni. I will be filming my actor walking, dancing etc in front of the green and in post make it look like he is exploring another realm. I would like to add some camera movement to the shoot so I also plan on placing 4 pingpong balls on the sheet so I can motion track in post. Luckily as I'm at art school (Brighton uni) I have a final cut and after effects specialist at hand to guide me, so I'll be asking him to get his hands dirty in the studio. As this is my final project I thought I might also make a making of documentary to go on the DVD. I'll probably post udates on here aswell. Thanks Ocean |
