50p to 25p, more filmic?

Will 50p converted to 25p look any different? The 50p looks very "live", but 25p has a better look. By converting 50p to 25p, will that give the same effect as if the footage was shot in 25p?

Also, how are the NLEs actually converting the footage when a 50p footage is put on a 25p timeline (pulldown etc)?

25p is 25p, so if you make it 25p it will be 25p

yes, but how do the NLE's convert the 50p to 25p, just remove 1 frame for each 2 frames?

more than likely it will interpolate the 2 frames into the on, however this is dependant on ur NLE...
